Das Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop, „Ensemble-in-Residence“ des Berliner Radialsystems geht demnächst buchstäblich auf die Straße!

Im Rahmen ihres Projekts XI ehren sie den vor zehn Jahren verstorbenen Komponisten und Architekten Iannis Xenakis und inzsenieren in einer dreiteiligen Performance ein Polytope – ein Gesamtkunstwerk aus Klang, Raum, Licht und Bewegung. Die zweitägige Konzertperformance findet in drei Teilen statt.

Am 01.Juli beginnt XI mit einem Konzert in der Philharmonie.

Am nächsten Tag, am 02.Juli wird der Konzertsaal verlassen und die Straße zum Schauplatz gemacht. In einer Guerilla Aktion werden insgesamt sechs zentrale Berliner Plätze bespielt!

Ab 21h wird schließlich am Gleisdreieck ein Ringpolytop inszeniert. Es handelt sich hierbei um eine Komposition aus 15 klingenden Autos, einer Blaskapelle und 15 unsichtbaren Musikern, bei der das Konzept von Xenakis, Architektur und Landschaft in großformatige Licht-Klang Orte zu verwandeln, auf die Stadt ausgedehnt wird.

Just found some really nice videos from the last Other Music & Dig For Fire´s SXSW Lawn Party, which took place in March in Austin on the occasion of the music and media conference SXSW. Dig for fire was filming the festival and you can see all the sunny performances here.
Really enjoyed the mind blowing performance by Holly Miranda and the show by my favourite Mayer Hawthorne!

Yesterday night Gil Scott Heron, who just released his new album “I´m new here”, finally performed live on stage in Berlin – and I´m so happy I could be there to see one of my music heroes and enjoy that beautiful concert! I expected a lot and got much more: Amazing music, funny jokes, good vibes and last, but not least also a really nice music support by LADI6 and PARKS from New Zealand.
