Joseph Kony has one mission he is successfully executing: Kidnapping children into his rebel group, the LRA, turning girls into sexslaves, and the boys into child soldiers. He makes them mutilate other people’s faces, and he forces them to kill their own parents. He has been doing that now for 26 years. We are talking about 30.000 children who has already been taking away from their homes, lost their brothers and sisters and just disappeared!
Joseph Kony is not fighting for any cause, but only to maintain his power.
Joseph Kony is not supported by anyone.
Joseph Kony is on top of the International Criminal Court’s list whose job it is to find and demand the arrest of the world’s worst criminals – The perversity of Kony’s crimes including murder, sexual slavery, rapes and abdactions made him first on that list.
2012 is the year to stop Joseph Kony. The problem is that no one knows him or about his long lasting crimes. Now we are talking about 99% of the planet who has never heard his name before.
Invisible children inc. is a community of young people who has been fighting against Kony for years. This community got build by the idea that where you live shouldn’t determine wether you live. They commited to stop Kony and literally rebuild what he had destroyed by themselves, because they couldn’t wait for institutions or governments to step in: They rebuild schools, created jobs and they build and early warning radio network on the front line of the war to protect villages from rebel attacks and most of all they created attention around the world.

With hundred of thousands of people with them they went back to Washington D.C. where they already tried to achieve support earlier and they met with senators and congressmen one by one on both sides, republican and democrats and made Kony’s crimes visible.
5 months ago the impossible suddenly became possible: Barack Obama has “authorized US forces to deploy to Uganda to provide assistence to regional forces that are working toward the removal of Joseph Kony from the battlefield.” !
It was the first time in history that the US took that kind of action, because the people demanded it.
Not for self defense, but because it was right.
Until today Joseph Kony could not be found. He recently changed his tactics making it even more difficult to capture him. An international support could be removed at anytime. And if this mission fails he continues to kill and kidnap children. This fail would not only be bad for these children, it’s bad for everyone.
But the community already came up with a plan and we are all involved : KONY 2012!
1. In order for Kony to be arrested this year the Ugandan military has to find him.
2. In order to find him they need the technology and training to track him in the vast jungle. That’s where the american advisors come in.
3. But in order for the american advisors to be there the US government has to deploy them. They´ve done that, but if the government doesn’t believe the people care about arresting Kony the mission will be cancelled.
4. In order for the people to care, they have to know, and they will only if Kony’s name is everywhere. EVERYWHERE.
5. WE ALL CAN MAKE HIM FAMOUS. IN 2012. MAKE HIM A HOUSEHOLD NAME. NOT TO CELEBRATE HIM, BUT TO BRING HIS CRIME TO THE LIGHT.
The world is changing right know. The desicions made by a few can now be affected by the power of the many.
The people of the world see each other and can protect each other. It’s turning the system upside down. They have been so many examples in the very last years and the biggest is the occupy movement. We are all witnesses of a world that’s truly changing, transforming and developing brand new ways to communicate and express ideas.
Let’s make KONY 2012 another good example of how many people, a global community can truly make a change in this changing world!
Arresting Kony will prove that the world we live in has new rules, that the technology that has brought us all together (FB, Twitter, Feeds, RSS…..) is allowing us to respond to the problems of people around the world, our problems, that we can shape and not just study human history!
