The adiCup tournament was born out of the 2002 ‘Fanatic’ brouhaha that saw the gathering of NYC based creative’s to compete in an annual football tournament. Today the adiCup tournament happens every 4 years in conjunction with the World Cup and this year sees the inclusion of 4 cities, namely, New York, Berlin, Tokyo and London with the winners of each region competing in the finals in Herzogenaurach, Germany, the historic adidas Originals HQ, for a chance to win a trip to the World Cup Final™ in South Africa on July 11th.
Each regional winning team that makes it to the final stage will take to the field resplendent in a jersey, shoes and a bag designed by a regional creative partnership that will also be available in limited numbers as part of the adidas Consortium range.
