The first issue of Pop’Africana is launching this April. Pop’Africana is an independent New York based magazine, giving us a new and rejuvenated image of today´s Africa. Released semiannually, the aim is to serve as the African book of style. We like the look, seems like we will like the content, and cant wait to see more of Oroma Elewa and her team soon!

Von H. Frank Taffelt zieht eine Werkgruppe, die 30 übermalte Postkarten umfasst, im Nebeneinander über die Wände. Es ist eine Auswahl aus 135 Karten.
Fast immer hat der Künstler ein Quadrat, mitunter auch zwei, über das jeweilige Motiv der rechteckigen Karten gezeichnet. Er trägt in Strichlagen eng aneinandergesetzte schwarze Kugelschreiberlinien in mehreren Schichten übereinander auf die bedruckten Oberflächen.
Das Postkartenmaterial stammt aus dem angesammelten Fundus des Zeichners und verschiedenen Aufenthalten an Orten, wie Venedig, Warschau, Pruno oder Wandlitz. Zu seinem Konzept gehört nach dem Überzeichnen die Selbstzuschickung. Seine Bildpostkarten tragen die Reibungsspuren des Postweges und die Fingerabdrücke der Postzusteller.

Hint Magazine has collaborated with designer Christopher Sauvé to create a t-shirt in memory of the life and legacy of Alexander McQueen, all gor a good cause. A portion of the proceeds will go to the largest HIV/AIDS organization in the UK, Terrence Higgings Trust, which McQueen supported for many years. Its time for some testosterone friends! The “Wet Contest” editorial is the work of Matthias Vriens-McGrath for the Spring/ Summer 2010 issue of Numéro Homme. Also if the long hair is firstly slightly irritating, we think that we can agree on, that that is not what we’re paying much attention too. Ahh summer: here you come!

Am 30. März ist es soweit, das neue Album kommt! Bei Jimmy Fallon in der Late Nightshow, hat Erykah unterstützt von der Band des Hauses “The Roots”, ihre neue Single “Windowseats” performt. Das Outfit was sie trägt, ist sehr eigenwillig. Doch ihr Stimme überzeugt mit jedem Ton!

Lady Dior is premiering their second part of their Lady Rouge video colab with Marion Cotillard and Franz Ferdinand today, before the Dior show in Paris. The Award winning actress is front woman, performing the Franz Ferdinand song “The Eyes of Mars”, mixing up Moulin Rouge wonderlands with a straight forward sexy masculinity.  The stylish music video was directed by one of Madonna’s favourite director Jonas Akerlund. We absolutely love Set Editions! Founded in 2004 by Alison Riley, they use basic sentences for fundamental uses. Their product line ranges from basic sentence, letterpressed or post cards and gift tags. The use is to give those who have communication problems a little kick by helping them to express their emotions! Selected works from art collector Dakis Joannou’s personal collection, are presented under the name “Skin Fruit” at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York. Curated by Mr. Jeff Koons himself, the presentation of the over 100 works by 50 artists from around the globe, will not be in a classic “look at paintings, installations and sculptures” way, but will also carry a distinctive focus. Live interaction with a man holding religious rituals, sculptures singing and more strange but original surprises are awaiting you. We would definitely go if we would be there, you guys have time till June 6th to do so!
