Woman Warrior

With my small feet and delicate hands I will step into this space and time with conviction
Like a woman warrior conquering the unfolding heaps of friction
After which she will face her sword; a sword undoubtedly covered by the blood of mistakes, spilled by no other violence than the rousing combat of her own body, mind and soul..

Street Royalty

I’m truly loving NY based artist Kehinde Wiley right now. He’s been showing his style off for a few years now and I find it very unique and true to urban culture.

His well known paintings depict black youths in poses that call to mind 18th and 19th century European figurative paintings -  using  certain postures and angles to convey status.  His  refreshing color combinations and design inspired patterns in the background deliver a glorious version of what I interpret to be  Street Royalty.

I wouldn’t mind having one on my wall .. at all ♥

Harlem House Party

Zulu’s Bday House Party…

Herald Square comes to Harlem..

Hot air, hard beats..

Alcohol in everyone’s brain…

Dancing like we were there to lose weight..

Zulu sashaying through the crowds making sure this party will leave no one’s mind..

Happy B-day Girl!

Dream on..

Despite the unreachable star that lies in infinity calmly and smilingly exclaiming that my journey has no purpose I continue to stride curiously catching hope as it drifts passively along the way..

Beacon’s Closet

Listen up fashion lovers,
Beacon’s Closet is an exceptional second hand exchange store with two locations in Brooklyn (Williamsburg and Parkslope).
You can trade in your old threads for either cash  (35% of estimated value)  or a 55% store credit. With a killer selection comes the killer selectivity – don’t expect to get the nod so easily when you attempt to sell your old threads..my girl went there with a whole bag of barely worn shirts and jeans and came back home with the same bag :-/.  But once there you’re sure to find a snazzy t-shirt, a boastful coat, or a vintage purse to reload your closet. The quality of the inventory is quite good and the prices are even better. Enjoy!
