Amnesia 1989.

For those who have never been to the magic island, Amnesia is still a running club. Where now a roof closes the masses of up to 5000 ppl per night, like animals in cage, wasted of their faces in dark rooms… back then it was about fun, love, unity and all those principles my parents lived up to in sunshine land. Still wasted though, of course. I was three, and this is where I come from.

The End of an Era.

Today my dad is closing down his business for good.

25 years ago, he opened the doors of Eivissa Communication Organization aka E.C.O, providing the good old hippies a place to receive their post mail, make phone calls or receive faxes. Expanding it with jewellery, home-ware, organic foods and “everything-else-you-can-possibly-need” he added an Internet Cafe many years ago, which was run by my mum. All in all it surely was one of the northern hippie community centre points.

Today is a sad, melancholic & nostalgic day for the Spiegel-Fateh family. Many memories arising… good ones, fights, drama’s, village gossips, birthdays, children playing in the garden, fresh fruit juices, the freakin heat under that winter-garden-like-ceiling, make ups & brake ups, laughs… running through my head. In someway its impossible for me to imagine my family life without this place. And although Dad is moving upstairs to continue with Real Estate, this surely is an end of an era.

Thank you Daddy Cool, Thank you Ma, Thank you E.C.O.

Aren’t we all a little Skitzophrenix?

In Ibiza there is 4 ways to go to make money: Have a restaurant/bar/hotel, be into real-estate, be a drug dealer or a DJ. Im very glad my brother DJ(amal) chose the last option!

Together with his homeboy Sid they are the duo Skitzophrenix- making up the new DJ generation Ibiza’s with their sweet 16 & 17 years. They know eachother since birth, are like brothers themselves. In general our families have always had a special  connection, since Sid is also the brother of my best gurl & eVerette Terminalibz. Just like us, they grew up on trance parties where our hippie oldies would put us to sleep next to the soundsystem (we would sleep big time!), travelling the world between Ibiza and Goa and sucking in that spirit that our parents laid in our cribs. Since 2008 they are playing progressive house, psy-trance and break beat around Ibiza’s underground hot-spots and house parties.

And of course: Big sister is PROUD! And honestly, I like their style! Its not to psy-based, with which im pretty much over with since im 18. They’ve got a fresh style and are somewhat innovative! I love the fact that my cool lil bro is actually doing something productive, not just hanging out, but developing his tastes and knowing what he wants. It’s all good, except when I’m at my Mum’s and there is this constant bass blasting out of his room!!! Dudes- get yourself a studio!! :)

Enjoy their mix from New Years Eve below and show some support by “Like”ing them on FB!

LOVE YOU DJ!
