The other day when I listened to my boys singing along to an RnB song,I was kinda shocked when I realised that they know every fuckin note from A-Z. Not only hook and verses but also aaaaall the adlibs. You know…these nice seemingly improvised melodies, words, uuuhs and ahhs that decorate the main lyrics and carry the emotion. So..I wonder….can you tell the name of a song by only hearing the adlips? No beat, no mainline, just the nice parts in the music that we like to sing along to so much.
Can you ?

that “can you pay my bills” kinda took it (+ the hints)
but like the idea.. much!
i remember knowing the whole “Whoa Nelly”-album by heart + all these adlibs & effects like the inset of instruments & all of that.
at the age of about 15.. nowadays that would most likely apply to “Word of Mouf”, “Red Light District”, “College Dropout”, “Food & Liquor”, “The Cool” & “Kunst über Vernunft”
haven’t you made a similar expirience?
larylou says:
definitely. …there are so many great songs and albums that I remember like that. Think I’m gonna do that quiz weekly now, just to remind us of the times when we used to play a song over and over again. =)
Thx for the love.
