the spring sets our souls on fire. so now in may i’m presenting you florian oellers, a young berlin based photographer, who captures our young souls on fire. suddenly we explode and all we can see are sparks disappearing in the night. we turn and turn around ourselves always looking for the next firework…
you see excerpts of florian oellers’s book “who knows it better than you“. go and check out his website and blog. and then enjoy your soul set on fire…
Maybe I just want to fly
I want to live I don’t want to die
Maybe I just want to breath
Maybe I just don’t believe
Maybe you’re the same as me
We see things they’ll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

the berlin born and based photographerANNA KO studied photography at the famous art academy hochschule für buchkunst HGB in leipzig and graduated with a very important, critical work called “das bild des künstlers als junger mensch” (the image of the artist as a young person): she took a potrait of each student of her university, which means that she had 579 pictures at the end and presented them in the court of the school in a white cube. besides beeing an important historical document, this work discusses the lack of solidarity at the university and the fact that everybody stands and works alone without sharing ideas, art and life, not only in university, but in our society in general.
this idea seems to be her central theme in most of her works. always thoughtful and reflective anna ko documents young life and creates a personal and close image of the so called lost generation.

there are not a lot of photographers whose images embody real poetry. anne schwalbe is one of them. looking at her pictures these words came into my mind:
thin lines of dust between your body and me
you come and go like the darkest, wildest sea
i can wash it away
but your dust and your smell forever will stay

finally you get to see the new photographer of the month: ANNE SCHWALBE!

the berlin born and based photographer studied at the ostkreuzschule für fotografie in berlin and is already known: several honorable mentions at different photo festivals, exhibitions in tokyo, new york, warsaw, zurich, etc., multiple publications, such as a review on the world’s most important photography blog give reason to have this interesting woman here at evewithoutadam.
anne impresses with a very consistent, pure style. almost reduced to abstraction, her pictures don’t tell a concrete story but let a lot of space to the observer to create own thoughts. i think, anne offers a very personal work within a gentle voice whispers the hidden secrets of life to us. here are some of my favourite pictures and next week you can see more of her work or you can also go directly check out her website www.anneschwalbe.de
