five leaves

Heath Ledger didn’t live to see his planned brooklyn café, but since september 2008 the five leaves café opens his doors just in front of mccarren park in williamsburg.

when you enter this place, you immmediately feel the european, maritime touch with a peaceful athmosphere. though it’s not too cozy because of the handcrafted look and a modern mix between steel and wood. whenever i got there, it was always crowded and the marble tabletops are close together but you sit next to young, open-minded people. sweet and cool, real new york girls à la chloë sevigny (who already was spotted there) serve your food: i had so tasty pancakes with all kinds of fruits for breakfast while the morningsun was shining through the big windows. it was a perfect start in the day. in the evening i had  TRUFFLE FRIES! since then one of my favorioute meals. a must-have! you can also have burgers and seafood and after that the café changes into a bar and you get every kinds of cocktails. i love it!
