Our beloved Amsterdam-based photographer Dennis Branko also has quite some material to offer! Check out the first slideshow from the Bread & Butter SUPERSHOW opening night below! More tomorrow!
Pictures are silver but videos are gold? Could be true (sometimes). Anyhow, as we prepare the complete picture recap of last week, here you have the first three movies of Bread & Butter!
The Bread & Butter opening on Tuesday, July 5th, was absolutely amazing. Mr. Mos Def, the Australian rock band Airbourne and the grand German band Deichkind hit the stage in front of 10.000 guests!
Last but not least here is a beautiful recap video of the Desert Land performing artist Melo-X, capturing some true eVe lady power in the forgotten land:
Some might argue that Mitte’s shopping area is getting more and more commercial, slowly competing with the essence of boutique shopping and independent stores. Next to Urban Outfitters planned arrival in this area, Weekday has just announced to open their second store at Berlin’s Neue Schönhauserstraße in the end of August.
The Berliner architects Pierre Gonzales & Judith Haase have been selected to design the interiors of the Swedish brand, alongside of Frédéric Teschner who will take care of the in-store graphics.
We are sure that also this Weekday branch will be more than successful, strategically placing itself in the appropriate fashion surrounding, in which hipsters and their wannabees will probably not get enough of shopping their basic yet different to other macro concern designs.
By now we are probably all familiar with the beautiful world of frozen yogurt. That magical in between delight, without any fats, refreshing you on those hot summer days. No additional sugars, nothing not natural, everything biological. Fruits, chocolate, nuts or smarties as topping, too. What could be better?
After this tease, here is the news: We got a new place in Mitte to enjoy that non-sinning desert. Efa’s Frozen Yogurtwill open its doors this Saturday, May 7th, at 1PM, surprising you not only with Frozen Yogurt, but fresh lemonade, cakes & so on.

The store is called Umasan and is, in fact, a whole new world. It stands for the celebration of life’s uniqueness and sets a new standard for quality in fashion. They believe in fair trade and natural energy sources and militate for the abolition of animal exploitation. The intelligent use of energy is their premises for a new generation of self-secure and environment conscious people, and by standing by this principle they hope to inspire others to follow in their shoes.
The new collection “Burning…my black heart” is unique and roots back to the underlying philosophy of Yoga, demanding a better understanding of our surroundings. Berlin now has the chance to share it with the broad public.

The anticipation is building up by the day for the opening of doors of the newest Museum of Ideas&Inventions in Barcelona, or in short, MIBA. The date of the inauguration is finally set for the 23rd of March, after a lot of prolonging since the end of 2010. Project granddad is none other that inventor Pep Torres, who, along with his majestic ideas, will bring a new crowd of museum amateurs to Barcelona. The building is located behind the City Hall and, while staying true to its initial architechture, will incorporate tons of modern elements. There will be permanent collections, temporary exhibitions, a reading room for documentation and a Lab to carry out experiments, workshops and formations. Innovative you might say.
