As 2010 comes to an end, there is so much to recap: the trends, the music and of course the films. In honor of all the great movie releases of the year, Filmography 2010, created by Youtube user Genrocks is a 6 minute long tribute composed of clips from a mind baffling 270 movies. Including Kick Ass and Inception each clip blends into another, set to the the perfect tunes. The superb editing makes this short stand out from the rest of the 2010 cinema tributes.

As sad as it may be to leave 2010 behind, 2011 is bound to be even greater, and to prove it we finally have a sneak peak for the release of part 4 of Pirates of the Caribbean. Set to be out on May 20th, 2011, On Stranger Tides is guaranteed to give us a much needed dose of hilarious pirates, action packed scenes and of course the gorgeous Johnny Depp aka Captain Jack Sparrow. An added pleasant surprise showed up in the preview, with the appearance of two beauties, Penelope Cruz on deck and Gemma Ward playing a mermaid. The anticipation is killing us!

After years of anticipation, the film, The Rum Diary, based on Hunter S. Thompson’s novel, is finally set to be released in 2011. Directed by Bruce Robinson, the movie tells the story of freelance journalist Paul Kemp, played by Johnny Depp. Working at a small newspaper in Puerto Rico, Kemp anxiously looks forward to making it big. Caught in the midst of a booze, irresponsible characters and a love triangle, Kemp finds himself lost. Uniting the work of Thomas and Depp’s superb acting abilities once again, the film is bound to be a knock-out.

“When You’re Strange” is the 90 min. film by award-winning director Tom DiCillo which will hit the cinema’s on April 9th, 2010. Narrated by Johnny Depp, it shows rare exclusive footage of the brilliant rock band The Doors. Having presented at Sundance, San Sebastian, London and Berlin Festival among others, it is the first feature documentary about the influential and iconic foursome. Their legacy and spirit can even be felt by looking at the trailer, so we are very eager to see it in full length soon!

Fashion and celebrity photographer Tom Munro, has now launch his first self-titled book, which contains his best celebrity portraits. The 240 pages, with an introduction of Madonna herself, contains images of some of the biggest names of our today’s pop culture like Courtney Love, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Dustin Hoffman, Ashton Kutcher, Isabella Rossellini, Johnny Depp, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell and Scarlett Johansson, just to name a few. The photographer who started shooting in the 1990’s, also opened his exhibition on the same evening, with prints being sold to raise money for African charities ‘Raising Malawi’ and ‘M.E.A.K. (Medical and Educational Aid to Kenya)’. The exhibition will go through March 13th 8445 Melrose Place in Los Angeles. Big up!

“YOU HAVE GOT A DATE”! Just 3 days to go and we are already very exited to see the new masterwork of Tim Burton, starring our beloved Johnny Depp, which will premiering in German cinema’s on March, 4th.

This time in 3D, 19-year-old Alice returns to the magical world from her childhood past, reuniting with her old friends, to go on a wonderful journey again. She will try and find out her true destiny and hopefully finally end the Red Queen’s reign of terror.

Eccentric crazyness is to be expected and maybe a few humourous dialogues too, but in general- 108 minutes of excellent camera, art direction, amazing make-up & costumes, already do the job! Enjoy!
