Preview: SIX DEGREES x SEBAGO

January 17th, 2012

Five identities. One brand. And now, just six steps away. What we showed you last summer as “Project Unknown”, is now not that much of a secret anymore!

Mdot from booji spoke to us last Winter about this upcoming project, and it didn’t take much hesitation to step on board. Together with Sandrinette from Paris’s Color Me Goood (and eVe of course) and Hana May from New York based hearty magazine we formed The Six Degrees collective. Six degrees of separation is based on the idea that everyone is connected an average of six steps away. Meaning: though far apart, we are all linked by our passion & drive, we are separated, yet always connected.

As we had sneaked peaked, we jumped onto a fantastic 1 week trip in the Dominican Republic, for a week of play-hard and work-harder adventures at Sebago. We spent days shadowing master cobblers, sifting through piles of rich materials, and pushed boundaries in the visions of what we wanted to create. (make sure to check here, here and here)

Led by Mdot, each of us designed a capsule collection representing our own individual style and aesthetics. Of course our origins played a role to our inspirations, and for the rest it was just a sum up of good taste mixed with Sebago’s heritage of high quality materials and twisting time-honored traditional silhouettes into styles we would love to wear personally.

Original footwear designs and true craftsmanship, paired with extraordinary styling. The Six Degrees collection is handmade in limited numbers with strategic distribution and touch points. The actual launch of the project is in Summer 2012- yet some of you lucky pressers and store owners will have the chance to see a small exclusive preview at Sebago’s booth in the new D.O.C.K. area of Bread & Butter.

For now, enjoy the teaser video below, and make sure to stay tuned, for much much more- this is just a pre-release!
