This is what you can find out on Sky 1’s series “An Idiot Abroad”.
Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant decided to present us their latest idiot, Karl Pilkinton.
Karl doesn’t like crowds. He’s reluctant on anything foreign, especially when it comes to food & hygiene. He doesn’t speak any other word but English, and actually doesn’t like to travel at all. But that’s exactly what we are meant to see. The easy-going put-in-a-good-mood series is there to make us have a whole load of fun, on the cost of Karl.
Season 1, sends him on a worldwide trip to see the seven world wonders, from the Great Wall of China, to the Taj Maha, Jordan Petra or Machu Picchu. Season 2, which has been airing now, is filled with adventures with a list of the ultimate things to do before you die- the bucket list. Swimming with dolphins becomes swimming with sharks, bungee jumping in New Zealand, or the tran-siberian railway- you are one lucky man Mr. Pilkinton!
We wish we would have the chance to discover all the lost treasures of this world one day. But for now, we cant get enough of having a great time when Karl doesn’t.
‘The Tanning Effect’ ist eine neue Serie, welche vom ehemaligen Urban Music President von Interscope und Sony Steve Stoute ins Leben gerufen worden ist. Der Manager von Musikgrößen, wie Nas oder Mary J. Blige diskutiert in seinen Serien mit bekannten Musikern über aktuelle und gesellschaftliche Themen und versucht einen interessanten Dialog zu provozieren.
Im unten stehenden Trailer spricht er mit Jigga, Pharrell Williams, Lady Gaga und Jimmy Iovine darüber, wie die aktuelle Generation die Regeln der neuen Wirtschaft umgeschrieben hat. Hier ein kleiner Einblick:
Odd Future TV Show
Vor ein paar Tagen wurde durch den amerikanischen TV-Sender “Adult Swim”, der sich seine Senderfrequenz mit “Cartoon Network” teilt, bekanntgegeben, dass das LA Rap Kollektiv Odd Future bald eine eigene TV Show auf dem Sender bekommen wird.
“Loiter Squad” wird die Show heissen und ab nächstem Jahr ausgestrahlt werden. Die einzelnen Episoden sind 15 Minuten lang und werden allerlei Scherze, Streetaction und Musik des Odd Future Teams beinhalten. Produziert wird das Ganze von Dickhouse Entertainment, der Jackass Produktionsfirma, die unter anderem aus Johnny Knoxville und Spike Jonze besteht.
Die kreativen und sehr facettenreichen Talente der jungen Gruppe werden bestimmt für einiges an Unterhaltung sorgen. Man darf also gespannt abwarten und sich bis 2012 auf ein erstes Ergebnis freuen.
Modeselektor feat. Thom Yorke
Die Berliner Band Modeselektor ist knapp davor ihr neues Album “Monkeytown” zu veröffentlichen. Es ist ihr bereits fünftes Album und wieder ist darauf ein weiterer bekannter Sänger vertreten: Thom Yorke. Gleich zwei Songs fürs neue Album wurden mit dem Radiohead Sänger produziert und sind bereits online zu hören.
Not everybody is a fan of trash tv, which we can totally understand. But to be very very honest, hand on heart: we luv it! Coming home after a long annoying day of work, nothing helps but switch on MTV and be overrun by one cheap but entertaining show after the other.
Debuting in the upcoming months on US cable network CW is the latest reality show entitled “H8R” aka Hater, hosted by Mario Lopez. The show is based on confronting random public people with their hated celeb, who are literally in the middle of a bitch speech about them, to turn their opinion around. Basically a mix between Punk’d and Undercover Boss.
First celebs up are the dangerous dumb double duo (had to hate, right?) Kim Kardashian and Snooki from Jersey Shore, which can be sure to be some of the most envied or hated public persons on this planet.

Der Opiumhandel ist längst weltweit organisiert. Von Afghanistan bis nach Asien zieht sich die “Opium-Route”, deren Drahtzieher zu großen Teilen die Taliban sind. Um 1900 waren eine halbe Millionen Amerikaner von legal bezogenem Morphin und Heroin abhängig. Heute scheint die Ausweitung der Sucht und des Drogenhandels kein Ende zu nehmen, trotz der erhöhten Anzahl von Polizeikräften und Grenzkontrollen. Sind Legalisierung und kontrollierte Abgabe von Drogen an Abhängige darum etwa eine Möglichkeit, das Problem zu lösen? Während die USA weiter eine strikte Kriminalisierung von Drogenkonsum und -handel verfolgt, geht man in anderen Ländern neue Wege. So stuft zum Beispiel Portugal die Drogenabhängigkeit als Krankheit ein, und finanziert entsprechende soziale und medizinische Programme zu ihrer Behandlung.
Der Dokumentarfilm des kanadischen Filmemachers Peter Findlay beleuchtet das Thema Opiumhandel, erzählt von den Akteuren und den politischen Umgang mit Süchtigen.
Der Film ist am Montag, 18. April, um 02:45 Uhr auf Arte zu sehen.
We’re all familiar with the endless list of reality shows that have taken over the attention of the stupid, or those who just need some basic evening distraction. From Jersey Shore, to The Hills, The City, The Osbournes, Viva La Bam or Life of Ryan, there is really something for each one of you out there. Mostly trashy of course.
But here is something a little different. How about a reality show based on the stuggle of being a musician in Manhattan’s Lower East Side hipster neighbourhood?
This is what Jimmy Lloyd Productions has started, with a series entitled “The Scene L.E.S.” which is now running on NBC. The good thing for all non-Americans: you can also see it on their Vimeo channel.

We’ve been actively following LastNightsParty for quite some time now. Basically taking CrazySexyCool party pictures from around the globe, they have positioned themselves as one of the websites to follow beautiful chicks and interesting looking people, next to those we know such as The Cobrasnake or icanteachyouhowtodoit.
More than two years ago, LNP, started creating short video episodes entitled “L.E.S. Artistes” (which is also the name of a song of Santogold), showing some of the night scenes highlights, may it be from celebs to random IT-people, telling their experiences, thoughts and opinions on what happens when the sun goes down.

Since MTV became a pay-TV channel in January, VIVA has taken a 360° turn to become Germany’s new hipster music channel. Being the only music channel in Germany open to every normal TV contract, they not only restructured their program by showing many MTV shows, but have left out the extreme annoying mobile-ring-tone-ad’s for which they were known for, and generally stepping up their image, design and probably also viewers target.
What is most clearly to be noticed is their new branding. Small clips in a complete new style, aesthetically showing our generations lust for life as if it would be the latest Replay meets independent film of the moment, new musical directions, new logos and generally speaking a whole new direction to conquer their soon to become fan base.
