Sam Haskins (1929 – 2009) was one of the first photographers who established modern fashion photography. Born in South Africa in 1929, he had an open mind and an eye for exotic locations, which he used for his shoots to achieve spectacular effects in light and atmosphere. The Parisian Marais Gallery Ofr now honors Sam Haskins, who died last year, and his lifework with an exhibition that shows more than three decades of pictures from his works, with an experimental touch to commercial projects as well as unique prints and the only edition of color images that was ever printed. The exhibition will run until August 25th.

Japanese Artist Takashi Murakami, known for his design and artworks through his cooperation with Louis Vuitton, when his colorful Manga-Teddys and symbols were mixed with and highlighted the classic Vuitton-patterns. That, and his artworks for Kanye Wests Album ‘Graduation’ were the reasons why he is since then called a border-crosser between art and popular culture. Now he and his work is honored in an exhibition at the venerable Château de Versailles. From September 14th until December 12th you can see his designs in one of France’s most historic buildings, merging the Asian world within traditional western history.
