As announced last December, Belgian fashion designer Martin Margiela has jumped on board onto a new project: Hotel interior design for the iconic Maison Champs Elysées.
Finally, 7 months later, the luxurious getaway has opened is doors, showing the result of the delicately refurbished and re-designed ground floor, seven suites and ten rooms.
Maison Martin Margiela: “We are happy to reinterpret another house for our first hotel project in Paris. We have created a theatrical environment where reality and trompe-l’oeil are mixing together. The result is several sets with intertwined references giving an atypical ambiance harmoniously opposing past and present.”

The Paris-based hotel La Maison Champs-Elysees is not only located on one of France’s most famous streets, but lives up to its locations standards. The historical building was originally built in the nineteenth century for the Duchess of Rivoli and is now set for it’s first major interior refurbishment in a very long time.
Belgian fashion designer Maison Martin Margiela has been given the honors of interior design, set to redesign the 7 suites and 10 guest rooms on the ground floor. Aiming to create an environment of luxury by combing theatrical aspects with reality, the suites will both be inspired by the past while remaining in the present. With their doors currently closed, the new and improved hotel is set to reopen on February 1st 2011. We hope we can afford a nights stay!

There are moments when we all wish we could live in the make believe world of a movie, filled with the magic and mystery that our everyday lives are lacking. Designers Vincent Bastie, Virginie Cauet, Sylvia Corrette and Paul-Bertrand Mathieu have made that dream a reality. The 28 luxury suites they created at Paris’s Seven Hotel, are based on 7 different films and themes, starting at 152€ per Room.
Including rooms by the names of Alice (inspired by Alice in Wonderland), 007 (a full-on James Bond experience) and Marie Antoinette, each is bursting with creativity and ingenuity. The spaces take their inhabitants into a different realm of reality, straying away from boring and introducing pure excellence. They have created a true Parisian dream.

Tucked in a side street of Paris’s Pigalle “red-light” district, there is a small 20-room hotel called Hotel Amour.
Walking through the packed downstair restaurant, you get to the front desk- a tiny space to settle your accounts and look at the cute waitresses that serve guests both inside, or outside in the coutyard in summer. You collect your keys, a huge fluffy black chain, and head to the tiny “tagged” elevator that brings you up to the rooms.
The rooms all change by look & decoration, playing with themes and cultural genres, decorated with streetart (Andre himself among others), romance novels, photo magazines and erotic images. There are no phones, tv’s or internet cables (only wireless), but there is an iPod station. Everything else would be too distracting for lovers, that can look from the bed right into the bathtub and viceversa. A cosy and stylish playground for your next Paris visit.
Doubles Start at 120€, and the rest is priceless!
