Piece no.5- Lary Says

Larissa Sirah aka Lary Says, representiert Düsseldorf

“SLAVE TO THE CULTURE. CULTURE IS A SHARED SYSTEM OF BELIEVE AND VALUE. SPIRITUALITY. LANGUAGE. SOCIAL ACTIVITY. THOUGHT. CULTURE INFLUENCES & CREATES- FIND YOUR BALANCE. BECOME QUEEN OF YOUR MENTAL BLUE PRINT”

_______

Larissa Sirah aka Lary Says, representing Düsseldorf, gathered femenine cultural elements to portray the pressure laid on contemporary women.

The silloute of a woman’s body, inspired from a Miss contest, was covered with texts:

“SLAVE TO THE CULTURE. CULTURE IS A SHARED SYSTEM OF BELIEVE AND VALUE. SPIRITUALITY. LANGUAGE. SOCIAL ACTIVITY. THOUGHT. CULTURE INFLUENCES & CREATES- FIND YOUR BALANCE. BECOME QUEEN OF YOUR MENTAL BLUE PRINT”

The head to this body, Larissa herself, covered by a crown, showed a video.

By pointing out herself within this context, it obviously is a self analysis showing the attempt of breaking out of the systems commandments.

pushBUTTON

pushBUTTON was launched in Korea in 2003. The crazy colourful designs with an incredible strong attitude, definitely stand out in a crowd. Seung Gun Park, designer of pushBUTTON, is master of excellently mixing different materials, unique prints and simply daring when it comes to design.

Opening a new showroom in Korea in 2007 and represented at the key European tradeshows like Bread & Butter and Who’s Next in Paris, pushBUTTON has clearly found a position in the industry. Together with their own shop in Seoul, they also sell in UK, USA, Japan, Baraihn & Italy. Online you can find their shop at 4EVA Mall (what a coincidence!) and Pixie Market.

eVe definetly loves their new S/S 2010 collection! More pictures after the jump!

Piece no.3- Ariadne

______

Ariadne von Schirach aka Ari from Berlin.

Her cosy corner was small, but as closer you would get, the more important details you could see.

Mirrors, a collection of sentences, pictures and most significantly her personal note under each of the small frames decorating her exhibition piece.

The Author with her truly feminine aspects, represented personal history, experiences and what is crucial in life: Always look into the mirror, never forget who you are.

Piece no.2-Terminal IBZ

_______

Kumari aka Terminal IBZ has given us an insight to what makes her who she is and the place she lives: IBIZA!

Home is where the heart is, and also if she wasn’t born on the island, she stands for the new post-hippie generation.

Her exhibition piece is of course representing all these elements. Freedom, revolution and hippie in the roots!

The Lovely Bones

eVe read the best sellers book from Alice Sebold nearly 4 years ago, and now this great piece has been put to film by Peter Jackson, to be seen in German cinema’s since yesterday.

The Lovely Bones” features a young 14 year old girl, Susie Salmon, who has been murdered and watches over her family – and her killer – from heaven. In the book and film, she speaks in first person, looking down from heaven, trying to find vengance by helping her loved ones to find her body.

Rachel Weisz, Mark Wahlberg and Susan Sarandon as part of the cast, make this oscar nominated film complete and should definetly be one of the next movies you go and enjoy!

Ute Mahler

For those who have not seen it yet, we want to point out Ute Mahler´s exhibition at GALERIE FÜR MODERNE FOTOGRAFIE, which will last till March 10th.

The German photographer, was born 1949 in Thüringen, Germany, studied photography in Leipzig and since then has been working as a freelance for international magazines and advertisement. Since 1995 she is a teacher (also from our bloggagurl Franziska Taffelt), and just publishes her own work. At the same time, she is co-founder of OSTKREUZ- Photography Agency & School.

Ute Mahler has been one of DDR’s fashion innovators due to her strong focus on fashions reality and not the fake world that often this form of art brings with it. During this period, and working for the DDR magazine Sybille, she captured strong, self-confident women who were not necessarily following fashion trends but giving great input into their own styles. Her detailed eye for a mysterious understatement can clearly be seen, as well as her fable for black&white shots.

Ute Mahler, still represents now, our eVe vision of the powerful feminine world and this exhibition should definitely be supported!

Check it out at:

Gallerie für Moderne Kunst

Schröderstr. 13, 10119 Berlin

Opening hours: thu, fr, sa 12-18h and by appointment

eVe without adam Launch @ Lucas Carrieri Gallery

Last night we launched eVe without adam, together with a very successful exhibition at Lucas Carrieri Gallery, Berlin!

All our 21 bloggers and blogger duo’s exhibited their creations and brought the virtual world into tangible life. Amazing pieces from all of them, with so much detail and love put into it- we are super satisfied with the outcome of that! Since the exhibition was just one exclusive night, we will go a step back again and show you the installations back in the virtual world.

All to us important people came (shame to those who were unfortunately missing), mingled, enjoyed the music & drinks and had a fabulous night!

We are very exited about this, have a lot of new projects and ideas yet to come and cant wait to share them with all of you. Thank you for all the support, for the guests on site and to those who have congratulated from far!

Impressions of the night, can be found after the jump! Thank you MARESA for all the great pics!

5preview launch the 5-piece-paper

5preview seem to be conquering the world of underground fashion and now also printed media!

Starting out with steady ongoing fashion collections mainly based on cool t-shirts, they have now thought of a great concept to start mingling in the magazine world.

The first issue of 5-piece-paper, designed by the Swedish designers from Studio Ove, is called “5 photographers”. Each of these 5, where we can find Mark Hunter from The Cobrasnake among the chosen ones, received a box with 5preview T-shirts, which they then interpreted in 5 different pictures. The magazine, which is actually a paper bag, contains 5 different pieces of paper, one for each photographer. Adding an interview with each of the artists it really rounds up the product.

The magazine will be printed in a exclusive number of 1,000 copies, sold on their online shop and in the stores that stock 5preview.

This rather small independant brand from Italy-Sweden, has really showed us how to do it. From starting out to printing the shirts themselves in their kitchens, have showed constant growth and innovation. We love it!

More pictures after the jump!
