Amy Winehouse feat. Nas “Like Smoke”

Music: Lady Leshurr in LEGO

Weekend Recap: “The Five Senses of DREAMTEAM Clothing” Trip

http://www.vimeo.com/31143534

Friends are friends, till the end. Ok, this time, for at least five years. Supporting and celebrating our boys Huy Dieu, Kazuma Hataraki, Khaled Sufi and Miki Devic from the Düsseldorfer possee Dreamteam Clothing aka DRMTM, we hopped in our fake luxury Ford Koda on Friday evening, for a six hour ride down west. Apart from hosting DRMTM at Bread & Butter for quite some seasons now, Huy is also the big boss at gooq, which is responsible for our website design- basically we (need) to treat him as GOD. Jokes aside, forever grateful.

First things first, shopping & flea-market. 7PM, ready to head out to Huy’s birthday dinner, what a coincidence, at a sweet Vietnamese place called Khan’s Lilly where we were invited to roll our own spring rolls and mess around with prawns a la yummy Asian fondue style. Cake, singing happy birthday 50 times and a lot of bottles of wine later, it was time to pateeeeey.

Düsseldorf’s UFER 8, a 1000 young NRW (some-wannabe) hipsters were going absolutely crazy for Matt’s, our lady Ms. Klick Klack aka Hadi aka Hadnet Tesfair and the ultra-good world-champ DJ Rafik. Highlight was of course our eVerette Lary Says aka Larissa Sirah who was performing with Miki & co., also known as the “12 inch Orchestra”. 1.5 hours of straight on hits- huge big up!

Hangover Sunday: lets invade Selim’s TOYKIO and eat delightful bagels and buy addictive art! Great concept, great store, great art- we loved it all!

Once again: HAPPY BIRTHDAY DRMTM, on to the next 5!

(check out some pics after the click).

Music: The Weeknd “Initiation”

Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project

November in Berlin umgesetzt.

Music: tINI presents “Tessa”

Our all-time friends based in Düsseldorf, electro label Desolat, presents the debut album of our eVerette tINI, who we had a chat with when eVe was just a baby, actually one of our first features.

Named after a music-loving friend who supported tINI’s transformation as a producer and DJ, “Tessa” is the finest result of her unique sound and version of house music, encouraging it with her influence of urban gleam filtered through the laid back and surreal atmosphere of Ibiza, where the majority of the album was produced.

She says, “For me a song is like my very own diary. My way to express my feelings in that very moment: from absolute joy to deepest melancholy.” Tracks like “My Shine”, “Canta la Testoasa” and “Maria, Louise and Bert” bolster the album with relaxed dancefloor vibes, while “Triptease” veers slightly closer to a boompty house pattern. “tINI Meets Jack – Medusa” brings an uplifting snap, “Monkey’s Cave” simmers and “Fail Better” unspools some compelling minimal house vibes. Lastly, on “Someone Loves You”, tINI’s debut Ibiza season wraps to a close with that same contemplative mood. ”I put these feelings and friends’ vocals from that time into my songs: reworking my old (heartache) songs, I ?cleaned my inside up.“

tINI is part of the Desolat family since 2009, originally comes from Munich and now lives in Berlin. She is a great, funny, we love her blond jumping curls. But most importantly her music is captivating, and we are damn proud that she is on the non-stop rising journey of her music career.

No matter if you are already a fan or not, check out her stream here. Then, once you became one, show your deserved support here and enjoy.

Kreayshawn: The Game & The American Immigrants “Gucci, Gucci” Remix

You either love her or you hate her. Lets start with the loving: in your face lyrics, crazy-great outfits, creative influences on all means, thousands of sold tracks, connected to some of the best musicians out there, etc. The hating: too much of the good, possible fakeness, might get annoying in time. Its a taste thing, just like with Ms. Gaga. You’re not meant to love it all, you’re just meant to see the certain talent and importance of its current social effect within today’s pop culture.

After rising up singing about Gucci, Gucci, Gucci and self-proclaiming herself with the “I dont give a fuck” syndrome, Natassia Gail Zolot aka Kreayshawn, the rapper & aspiring music video director now also has an online video game, created by indie game creator Beth Maher. Its important to say thats its not something Kreayshawn asked for, yet she completely supports and promotes it through her tumblr.

The game is not a future playstation collection. Its basic, was put together by Beth herself within four weeks, being her first one ever. Its a cute test shot, which will probably become more famous as Beth had thought, and which certainly gives Kreayshawn yet another dedicated fan feature- making then click to “kill basic bitches with swag”. Can we have one too, Beth?

Check it out here!

… And did you already listen to The American Immigrants “Gucci, Gucci” Remix? We likey!

Music: Coldplay feat. Rihanna & SBTRKT

Coldplay teams up with “Esquire’s sexiest woman alive” Rihanna for the track entitled “Princess of China”, which will be included in the bands fifth studio album Mylo Xyloto, due on October 24th. Its not that we don’t like it, don’t get us wrong, but still Coldplay is buried in our hearts for their ability to produce that somewhat special feeling inside of us. Unfortunately its just not really happening this time, maybe its just too “poppy” for our rather individual taste. What do you think?

http://www.dailymotion.com/videoxlqltw

On the other hand, our current beloved SBTRKT was invited to deliver his best playlist to BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix, which you can stream and listen directly on BBC’s website for the next five days. He included a previously unreleased track entitled “Runaway” which you can listen below, mixing it up with everything from D’Angelo to Flying Lotus and Radiohead for a complete set of 120 minutes.

Enjoy!

Last but not least sound master A-Trak pays tribute to the passed away French mega-influencer DJ Mehdi with a 7min. track entitled “How Deep Is Your Love?”. He explains: I did this remix over the summer, and when I was close to finishing it I played it to my friend, the irreplaceable DJ Mehdi. We often played each other our productions for feedback. As it turns out he and Riton were visiting New York so they stopped by my apartment. I was working on the main version of the remix, the vocal version. I knew I would make a few alternate edits during the mixdown. The funny thing was, Mehdi’s favorite part was the ending! He and Riton suggested that I have that part come in earlier. My reaction was: that would work well for the dub version. And sure enough, when I finished mixing it down I made a dub with their suggestion. When I sent it to Mehdi shortly after, he responded (as a joke) that I should call it “Dub For Mehdi”. He included it in his “Tunisian Summer” mix. And then, as we all know, the unimaginable happened and we lost our dear friend. The least I can do now is name the edit after him. This one’s for you, Memed.
