Reuters reports the photographer says the video has eight derivations of his images, in which Rihanna has copied the “composition, total concept, feel, tone, mood, theme, colours, props, settings, decors, wardrobe and lighting” of his work.”. Da beginnt nämlich die Ausstellung ‘The Hidden Side’ des Illustrators Sebastien Feraut aka Niark1 in der West Berlin Gallery! Die Werke von Niark1 sind eine wahre Farb- und Musterexplosion, und sehen manchmal so aus, als hätte jemand verrückte japanische Comics in mehreren Schichten übereiander gelegt. Die Ausstellung zeigt die schönsten Werke von Niark1, einen kleinen Vorgeschmack gibt´s nach dem Jump!

Designer Phil Thompson sieht sich selbst als Jäger und Sammler. Aus dieser Leidenschaft entstand sein Label Kroam, bei dem er Vintage-Materialien und moderne Stoffe zusammen verarbeitet. Dabei nutzt er vor allem sein fundiertes Wissen über Denim, was er sich in seiner Funktion als Headdesigner bei Lee und Wrangler erworben hat. Seine neue Kollektion hat irgendwie einen mystischen Touch, die Farben sind  eher  dunkel, als hell. Die Schnitte sind eher basics, jedoch mit Details!

Es heißt, ein Schriftsteller sollte über die Dinge schreiben, die er kennt. Der Fotograf Greg Bojorquez wendet dieses Prinzip auf seine Bilder ebenfalls an und hat damit durchschlagenden Erfolg.

Vor seiner Linse tummeln sich seine Freunde und Nachbarn aus East L.A., die von echter Gangster-Qualität sind. So portraitiert er die Ganzkörper-Tätowierten, in rostigen oder luxuriösen Karossen; cruisenden “Kings” seiner Heimatstraßen, ihre Girls, die Kinder und gibt dadurch einen spannenden und zugleich rührenden Einblick in eine Welt, die die meisten Menschen westlicher Wohlstandsgesellschaften nur aus Filmen kennen.

Seit das Buch im vergangenen Dezember herauskam, war es in Japan bereits am Veröffentlichkeitstag ausverkauft. Die Story um den Mathematiklehrer Tengo und seine große Liebe, der Geschäftsfrau Aomame, die in einer zweiten Parallelwelt (1Q84) als Auftragskillerin arbeitet, ist eine typische Murakami-Erzählung: verrückt, fesselnd und brilliant!

Valentinstag rückt näher! Der Tag den Singles verabscheuen und sich heimlich doch fragen, ob es nicht vielleicht trotzdem jemanden gibt, der heimlich in sie verschossen ist… aber wer will, kann sich jetzt mit einem Miniatur-Boyfriend in a Bottle trösten.

Den kann man sich im Mini-Flakon um den Hals hängen. Okay, er lädt einen zwar nicht zum Essen ein aber langweilige Fußballabende mit Pizza und Bier veranstaltet er auch nicht.

Yoshimasa Tsuchiya is a Japanese sculptor. He makes wooden sculptures of aerial animals whose concept and motifs are inspired by Japanese folklore, myths or his own dreams.

If you check out the pictures everything seems to be so tiny, yet in real his sculptures vary in size between 20-40/70 cm of height.  Embodying delicacy, stillness and calmness, the creatures called Baku, Kirin or Ningyoreally, give out an image as if they have just walked out of a fairytale. On top of that, each of them have got their own story and background in Japanese culture.

Wenn eine von Euch schon immer mal eine Film-Premiere ausrichten wollte, hätte sie jetzt die Gelegenheit: die dänische Indie-Rockband Efterklang hat mit dem Filmemacher Vincent Moon, der unter anderem schon Musikvideos für Arcade Fire oder Bloc Party produziert hat, den Dokumentarfilm ‘An Island’ gemacht.

Darin haben die vier Jungs die Songs ihres neuen Albums ‘Magic Chair’ von mehr als 200 lokalen Musikern, Kindern und Fans neu interpretieren lassen und alles auf Video festgehalten.

Um Host einer Premiere zu werden, könnt ihr Euch hier anmelden und weitere Infos erhalten. Oder aber ihr wartet bis der Film auf der demnächst statt findenden Tour zum neuen Album, das gerade erscheinen ist, gezeigt wird.

Hedi Slimane will open his first exhibition in Brussels to date, “Fragments America” on February 25th at the Almine Rech Gallery, with whom he has collaborated for more than eight years.

The basic subject of the exhibition lays on following American youth, an archive he has built up over the past years. Trademark to his realistic, natural, documentary-like, black & white photographic masterpieces, he will show us his personal vision of what he believes is dominating the American aesthetics.

Another peak of the exhibition is the invitation of participating artists Gus Van Sant and Oscar Tuazon, presenting film and sculptures respectively. Pretty much simulatenously to his Brussels opening, the Almine Rech Gallery in Paris will open ‘California Dreamin – Myths and Legends of Los Angeles’, curated by Hedi Slimane from February 26th till March 26th.

Lexus Lewis aka Lex Luger is probably going into history as yet another wonder-child.

The still 19 year-old (1991!) American producer from Virginia made word in the hip-hop scene in 2010, being responsible for some of last years best tracks around: Rick Ross’s “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast)” and “Teflon Don“, Waka Flocka Flame’s “Hard in da Paint” and “Flockaveli” and of course to point out: Jay-Z & Kanye’s Watch The Trone – “H.A.M.”.

Starting to learn how to handle beats with the PlayStation game “Beat Generator“, he is known for using nearly-impossible-drum-machine combinations. “I just love what I do and plan to take my music to the next level.”- Luxer says. Well… we do too!

Whilst currently hopping in the studio with Curren$y and Drake, we’re sure to hear much more of him in the near feature. Big up Maaayne.
