Freshly released today is the newest EP from mastermind James Blake, entitled “Enough Thunder”. Six amazing tracks follow after his debut release back in February which already made him rise to music heaven. And the best of all: we can listen to a full album stream right here, over and over again. For all us Europeans we’ll need to wait till October 10th when the good stuff will hit iTunes for us to shop delights. Second best thing: Blake will hit Hamburg, Berlin, Köln and Frankfurt from November 15th-19th. Make sure you get your ticket if you’re not too late alredy!
With an all new black-hair-look, miss “I’m pregnant and look stunning” Beyonce Knowles, hits us up with her latest video to her single “Countdown” off the “4″ album. 60’s mod styling meets a color splash in a what looks like to be a modern Audrey Hepburn tribute. Check it out!
Last but not least sound master A-Trak pays tribute to the passed away French mega-influencer DJ Mehdi with a 7min. track entitled “How Deep Is Your Love?”. He explains: I did this remix over the summer, and when I was close to finishing it I played it to my friend, the irreplaceable DJ Mehdi. We often played each other our productions for feedback. As it turns out he and Riton were visiting New York so they stopped by my apartment. I was working on the main version of the remix, the vocal version. I knew I would make a few alternate edits during the mixdown. The funny thing was, Mehdi’s favorite part was the ending! He and Riton suggested that I have that part come in earlier. My reaction was: that would work well for the dub version. And sure enough, when I finished mixing it down I made a dub with their suggestion. When I sent it to Mehdi shortly after, he responded (as a joke) that I should call it “Dub For Mehdi”. He included it in his “Tunisian Summer” mix. And then, as we all know, the unimaginable happened and we lost our dear friend. The least I can do now is name the edit after him. This one’s for you, Memed.

Oh Monki, why why why don’t you exist in Berlin? Who told you to choose Hamburg and Essen to be your German hot-spots? Yes, we are a little jealous, neighbours, but hey…no hard feelings!
From today, you’ll be able to enjoy the new February releases of Monki’s styles, featured in the latest appearing lookbook “Monki Mirror Movement”. The shots titled with cool names like “Moonwalking”, “The Great Escapre” or “Collision Dancing”, were captured by Aorta from LundLund and literally feature a gravity issue. Stripes & prints, oversize laying and socks mixed with sandal wedges in blue’s, red’s and basic grey’s are the base of this upcoming first part of the Spring Summer 2011 collection.
Another highlight to mention from beloved Monki, is their Spring Summer 2011 presentation through a set of collectible cards designed and illustrated by absolutely over-talented Lina Ekstrand, featuring two of their main collection lines for the upcoming warmer days: Undercover and Denim Kind of Girl.
Undercover stands for sharp tailoring and uniform-like designs in pale nude’s and blood red’s, for a complete industrial look. Denim Kind of Girl will return to a vintage 90’s feel, in which indigo’s meet basic soft-washed cotton shirts.
Enough is enough- now you may rub it into our faces & head to your nearest store!
