The Paris-based designer Calla Haynes has brought to life a new fashion brand named Calla. After studying at Parsons School of Design and working at Rochas and Nina Ricci at the side of Olivier Theykens for almost 5 years, she was surely ready to do the big jump to independence. Her “relaxed luxury” collections are currently sold in Paris, New York and Toronto, but we’re sure that that is going change pretty soon. The Toronto born designer, gives a lot of importance to prints which are the base of her lines. We enjoy both the sophisticated playful designs and the ultra feminine style she presents. Enjoy both the S/S and A/W 2010 collections after the click! Read more »

We don’t really have a green thumb and we usually slack when it comes to sending postcards or anything touchable- the online world is taking over. For those who share the same problem, here comes Postcarden. The London based A Studio for Design designed and produced the universal gift. Usually greeting cards lack on surprise or are boring, and are then put away in the box with all the others, never to be seen again. Postcarden is the unconventional way of making a simple card into something “timeless” by adding seeds to then let us start our own mini self-made garden, and turning a piece of paper into something beautiful and living.

We have been fans from Swedish Hasbeens for quite some time now, basically since they started exhibiting at the Bread & Butter last July 2009. What started out with a few basic clog models in nature colors, has now developed into a full variety collection from lace-up boots to open wedges and bags&belts, shining both in nature, pastels and bright tones. Production and the product quality has always been given major attention within the Scandinavian company, from the wood they use for the heels to the leather for all of the hand-made gems. We are happy to see the amazing development they did and can’t wait for the Autumn/Winter 2010 collection to hit the stores soon (after we have gone crazy on S/S 2010!) !

MIKOH Swimwear is the creation of the California beach girls Oleema and Kalani Miller. The sisters grew up in a surfer and ocean lover family in Orange County, which could basically be translated into “they grew up in their bathing suits”. MIKOH means “female shaman” or a “female prophecy” in Japanese and was created to show femininity, strength and beauty for the confident and chic woman that wants to stand out and make a statement no matter where she is. We love the way they play with simple design differences that subtly change the whole style of the piece- no matter if it’s a suit or a bikini, we can’t wait for summer! You can enjoy their online shop here and see more of the collection after the click! Read more »

While the author line-up includes Naomi Campbell, Danny DeVito, Agnes Deyn, Michel Gondry, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Liza Minnelli, Chloe Sevigny, Diane von Furstenberg and many many others, we are of course very curious to see it in full!

The second and final collection of Betsey Johnson Archive for Opening Ceremony has just been released putting up a very sweet Spring/ Summer 2010 line. In celebration to the 30th anniversary of Betsey Johnson, the New York based brand started collaborating with Opening Ceremony last August 2009, to revive the best selection of her classic archived looks. This time around we are teased by a series of floral prints featured on leggings, dresses and flared tops, followed by cute jumpsuits and ruffled shorts in “olive” and “raisin”, which to us appears more to be a violet and mustard- but that isn’t what counts! We like it and if you do too, check out the full collection here!

Jules Kim believes in the value of self-expression and sees her provocative pieces as more than an accessory, but more of a lifestyle. Bijules is widely known already but still their collection flashes us again and again. Jules Kim designs unique jewellery for powerful modern women, being able to clip, cut, curve and hang the pieces as they like, giving us the opportunity to reach an individual touch that we fashion lovers need. We don’t all want to look the same! Worn by no others than MIA, Santogold, Beyonce, Eve, Gwen Stefani, Peaches and Rihanna, the target group is set very clear. For the “Scream and Spirit” Autumn/Winter 2010 Collection, Bijules collaborated with the excellent fashion photographer Ruvan, to shoot amazing limited edition pictures, which were presented in an exhibition in NYC in February and which will be images of the upcoming campaign. What began as a hobby for Sandee Shin exploded into an entire line of avant-garde jewelry. In 2009 she launched Armor, a collection of high fashion jewellery which mixes understated minimalism and the conceptual fashion. Every piece is made on order and is of course made by hand. We love the way she uses the chains to subtly draping them around our bodies creating a look in between edge and elegance. Doesn’t matter if with a white tee or an evening look, it surely catches attention! You can get them here.

Letters, cities, balloons and landscapes charm the 100% silk foulard all featured with an old-school Polaroid printed effect. We cannot afford to have them, but we surely can afford to love them!
