Music: Lady Leshurr in LEGO

Alexander McQueen Scarf Collection AW11

Music: The Weeknd “Initiation”

Magazine: Treats!

…And suddenly there was all this Treats! content popping up. We started getting into it, of course there is a lot more to it besides the nice behind-the-scene videos and gorgeous looking women.

Treats! is a new limited edition quarterly magazine printed in a large-print format, basically getting as close as possible to a coffee table book. It’s actually aimed at men, but we all know that doesn’t really count anymore nowadays; probably us females are just as (if not more) fanatic about women as the dudes from around the corner.

High fashion meets sensuality, the Treats! lifestyle is portraid through a print and an extensive online multimedia platform. Luxury as fantasy, giving inspiration and creating desire. Oh, the beautiful world of marketing; let us crave for each detail given & more.

The second issue, which annually is set at $80, is packed with goodies. Sky Farrell shows her art, we get to know the miracle machines of Dr. Royal Rife and we see an exclusive peak into the archives of photographer Guy Webster, known for capturing Morrison, Jagger, Nicholson and many others of the pop culture clan.

We collected some of our favourite previews for you after the click, still, make sure to check out their online experience here and more videos on their vimeo channel!

Artist Project: G-SHOCK presents “ToughArtivists”

On September 22nd, G-SHOCK presented their latest project entitled ToughArtivists, offering a platform to create a network of selected artists rising from the urban art scene. All these artists have stories to tell since art is an actual active part of their life, yet often don’t have the courage or place to do so.

ToughArtivists supports this matter, believing in the strength and diversity of ideas within urban art culture. Extraordinary talents now have the chance to unfold their creativity on Artist-Edition G-SHOCK models and become another influencer on the list of the many collaborations that the accessory brand has had since their creation in 1983.

And for all the Berliners, there is a nice add-on: ToughArtivists is present at this years STROKE Art Fair, which is starting out today. In cooperation with Modart, they have created a galery, living room and playground together with the artists 44Flavours.

First one up is the Spanish graffiti artists DEMS, who has already produced its limited edition model and who tells his story right here.

Enjoy the project trailer:

Fashion Loving: Maynard

To be honest we are a little confused now. Some say Maynard are from New York, others say that they are the last rising fashion label from Australia. Scraping through their website, we also only found more “Coming Soon”’s, which of course intrigue us even more. Well whatever, who really cared in the end where they come from. What is sure is that we are loving what we are seeing, their first collection, their first video presenting the upcoming Spring/ Summer 2012 line.

First point goes to the lookbook & collection- a clear “basic-which-are-not-so-basic” enhancer, some beautiful cut-out pieces and what looks like great materials & details. Second point goes to the John Gutierrez directed movie, with cinematography by Ivan Abel, which is sort of a short-film for high end fashion. A beauty running through the forest, horse included. Third point definitely goes out the glowing red-lipped model which we cant stop staring at.

We hope to discover much much more very very soon! How much points do you give? Decide by seeing more after the click!

“Lips of Babel” by Elle Maliarcyk

Elle Maliarchyk, who we know from creating the beautiful “Khaleideoscope” video featuring Abbey Lee Kershaw for jewelry label Mania Mania, has now created another hypnotic series, this time of close up portraits of top international models. Yeah, that sounds like “oh just another beautiful face 2 min film in which nothing happens”. But in this case its a little different.
Together with make up artist Cynthia Rose she portrays the perfect lipped models reciting the most complicated tongue twisters in their native languages.
“Tongue twisters are something we all have from childhood,” Muliarchyk says, “they often say a lot about their culture of origin. One from Nigeria translates as “Lady Seamstress, why are you so sad? Did a hen lay an egg on the dress you just made?””
From Czech to Vietnamese, the photographer and video artist grew up speaking six different languages. Elle decided to gather 50 different lips until now, the first ones will be on view at Motilo starting next week. Yes, the video below is just a sweet preview.

And while we are trying to figure out if we could also jump aboard the tongue twisting art, we invite you to watch & learn below.

Lovecat Magazine featuring Andrej Pejic

We’ve been following Lovecat Magazine from the beginning. And that pretty much goes for Andrej Pejic as well. The first, one of the sexiest fashion indie-magazine out there right now, the second, the sex-free liberation model. And while we’re at it, why not add a spice of Marilyn Monroe to it, who will also soon be personified by Michelle Williams in “My Week With Marilyn“.

For the second issue of Lovecat, Jakob Dekat & Prince Chenoa capture Andrej for the editorial “Marilyn Off Duty”. He looks amazing. We seriously still think that what effect he can create on the viewer as a man is pretty unique. 100% believable and 100% aesthetic.

Check out the rest of the editorial after the click & check out the video below:
