I Am Love (Io sono l’amore) is the Italian film by Luca Guadgnino to hit cinema’s throughout Europe on March 19th. The film is set at the turn of the millennium in Milan, showing the breakthrough of repression due to the forces of passion and unconditional love. The main character Emma Recchi is amazingly played by Tilda Swinton, who takes the leading role to escape the golden family cage. While you can see the trailer below- we can’t wait to see it full length in German Cinema’s starting April 14th!

Der Fotograf und Videokünstler, Robbie Cooper, filmt Menschen aller Altersklassen und Milieus durch eine Leinwand, auf der sie verschiedenes zu sehen bekommen. Von Horrorfilmen und Cartoons über Computerspiele bis hin zu Pornos, dabei filmt er sie frontal, während diese sich auf den Bildschirm konzentrieren. In dieser einzigartigen Art & Weise, Menschen zu beobachten und dabei eine Reihe von Portraits aufzunehmen, gelingt es ihm ein Bild zu schaffen, welches mehr als authentisch ist.

“Immersion” ist sein aktuelles Projekt und ist noch bis zum 5ten September im National Media Museum zu sehen.

The first and only time I saw The White Stripes at Catalonia’s festival Primavera Sound back in 2007, they absolutely blew my mind, making it one of the best rock concerts I had ever seen. Now, The White Stripes will rock the stages again, directly from your home. After premiering their first documentary “Under Great White Northern Lights” in September 2009, they brother-sister duo are now finally releasing the awaited limited edition box on March 16th, which contains the documentary DVD, an exclusive documentary DVD of their 10th Anniversary concert, their first Live CD, 7″ on Vinyl, a hardcover photography book and so on. “Under Great White Northern Lights” is directed by Emmett Malloy, who traveled by their side when touring through Canada (no matter how small the town was) for their 10th Anniversary, to give small and very intimate concerts. The documentary gives a very different private and delicate view of the usually rough indie-rock world and we cant wait to see it in full length!

Michael Rapaport eigentlich bekannt, als Comedian und Schauspieler, hat sich einer seiner Lieblings Bands angenommen und macht eine Doku über A Tribe Called Quest.Vor 2 Jahren hat er damit gestartet und wird seither zu verschiedenen Gigs eingeladen, macht Interviews, hat Archivmaterial bekommen und bis jetzt wohl schon ca. 200 Std. Filmmaterial gesammelt. Von Pharell über Ludacriss bis hin zu Common, Mos Def und Pete Rock, geben die Künstler hintereinander weg ihre eigene Erinnerung, Gefühlsempfindung und Verbindung zu ATCQ ab. Jeder scheint gerne Teil dieser einzigartigen Dokumentation werden zu wollen, bzw. fühlt sich mit ATCQ verbunden. White Mike in Mitten der Hip Hop Kultur Amerikas, wir dürfen uns freuen! Ein Release Datum ist leider noch nicht veröffentlicht, aber sie versprechen es uns dieses Jahr noch!

Binki Shapiro (of the band Little Joy- where by the way our all-time-hottie Fabrizio Moretti/ The Stokes drummer) has gathered some of the most important players of our pop culture to contribute with an object, to raise funds for Haiti. From a tote bag by Liv Tyler and her crew, a camera from Drew Barrymore, skateboard from Kevin “Spanky” Long or a sweater from Kate Nash and a song produced by Mark Ronson. We like the fact that it not only a typical “lets-do-a-t shirt” thing! “Crafts For A Cause” will auction the donations online between March 15th (8AM) and March 27th on Bidding For Good. Keeping the spirit of helping Haiti alive, the proceeds will go to the Haiti-based humanitarian organization Artists for Peace and Justice, founded by Paul Haggis. And to make it possible for some of you too, the bids range from $15 to $5,000.

Lady Gaga & Beyonce haben es wieder getan! Diesmal haben sie sich selber komplett übertroffen! Egal wie (sorry! dass wir das sagen müssen, die Musik ist fürn Arsch!) ABER die Bilder und Story übertrifft, bzw trifft die aktuelle Bewegung, in Bezug auf Mode, Kunst und Musik gerade so ziemlich alles, was der Markt uns so bietet. Der Film geht fast 10min,  Szenen und Handlungen,  sogar den Pussy Weagon von Tarantino sind eingebaut. Kostüme von den angesagtesten Designern der Gegenwart, sowie berühmte Unterstützung und Tanzszenen machen das Video komplett. Nicola Formichettei, Stylist dieses Videos, aber auch der persönliche von Miss Gaga, gibt uns Einblick auf die verschieden Kreationen, die eigens für dieses geschaffen wurden.

YesYesNo has teamed up with The Church, Inside Out Productions and Electric Canvas to transform the Auckland Ferry Building into an interactive installation. Using a special software they designed themselves, the playground was open to the public being responsible of the large scale charades. They have now put together the maxing of and event video, teasing us so good that we want to join & jump!

Sometimes its just cool to be born within a family with history and heritage, simply because you can live all the creativity you carry inside. This is also the case of the greatly talented jewellery designer Miss Fendi, Delfina Delettrez. Starting to design when she was just 20 years-old, she has now presented her fifth collection at the Paris Fashion Week. Inspired on the fifth solar cycle in the Mayan calendar she puts out messages as “2012 Is Now”, to be found at Colette or Opening Ceremony.

“When You’re Strange” is the 90 min. film by award-winning director Tom DiCillo which will hit the cinema’s on April 9th, 2010. Narrated by Johnny Depp, it shows rare exclusive footage of the brilliant rock band The Doors. Having presented at Sundance, San Sebastian, London and Berlin Festival among others, it is the first feature documentary about the influential and iconic foursome. Their legacy and spirit can even be felt by looking at the trailer, so we are very eager to see it in full length soon!

Fashion and celebrity photographer Tom Munro, has now launch his first self-titled book, which contains his best celebrity portraits. The 240 pages, with an introduction of Madonna herself, contains images of some of the biggest names of our today’s pop culture like Courtney Love, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Dustin Hoffman, Ashton Kutcher, Isabella Rossellini, Johnny Depp, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell and Scarlett Johansson, just to name a few. The photographer who started shooting in the 1990’s, also opened his exhibition on the same evening, with prints being sold to raise money for African charities ‘Raising Malawi’ and ‘M.E.A.K. (Medical and Educational Aid to Kenya)’. The exhibition will go through March 13th 8445 Melrose Place in Los Angeles. Big up!

Our friends from Jezebel are having their London Loft Party tomorrow at LOFT NW10. After just doing the same at Le Baron in Paris, we can definetly say: Jezebel is back! The fashion, music and art collective, mainly led by Jade Jagger, started out with parties at Pacha, Ibiza, every Friday in the summer season hosting DJ’s like DRW, Jaguar Skills and Mark Ronson and concerts from Lily Allen and Estelle. By now their fashion line is sold in some of the best shops around the world, and soon also online, always close to Jade’s jewellery line. How about some good old Jezebel in Berlin guys?

Tilt-shift photography at its finest! The short film “The Sand Pit” by Sam O’Hare used up 35,000 photographs, was shot over 5 days in New York depicting a day in the life of the Big Apple, showing the amazing effect he has got out of this upcoming popular technique. Because in the end, we are all small creatures! Enjoy!
