Los Angeles musician Aloe Blacc puts the funk back into funky. His awesome fresh new style demonstrates how he’s a true classic at heart, and doesn’t necessarily need to follow trends to get the public’s attention. He stays true in both lyrics and performance with his newly released song “Loving you is killing me” and does a super cute dance-off vs. Baby Boogaloo that even James Brown would be proud of.
And as long as we’re talking about classics, check out the new version of “Nas is Like..,” remixed by Sourface, aka Adam Bramwell from Manchester England. The lyrics driven song is therefore dubbed by an eclectic beats repertoire, which doesn’t set out to change the original spirit but rather re-interpret it. Just like putting goggles on the past.
Another surprising act, and by surprising we definitely mean good, is Radiohead’s Thom Yorke teaming up with Four Tet and dubstep enigma Burial for the making of two tracks (“Ego” and “Mirror”) featured of Four Tet’s record label Text.
And let’s not forget about New York’s very own songwriter Hoodie Allen rapping about agonies past. Jamie XX joins him and creates a soft layout of beats, making it all into an amazing whole called “NY is killing me”.
See much more of this after the click!

It’s time to introduce you to some of the latest, most creative music-playing ramblers out there. You may have heard of some, but for those of you who haven’t, take a long breath, hop aboard and be taken.
First we have Selah Sue, a young, more Belgian version of M.I.A meets Erykah Badu. ThX to LookyLooky for sharing!
Then Alexis Taylor, Hot Chip genious who already made it big once. Now he wants to prove that he can do it all over again with his music project About Group with his new track called “You’re no good”, and we’re pretty convinced of that!
Take Brit girl Ellie Goulding for example. Her recent success hasn’t left any marks on her yet, and she still amazes us with a cover of the heart-melting “Heartbeats”, originally played by The Knife, even if it’s been covered so many times before.
And we have Carlitta Durand, a sentimental magician of jazz, r’n'b and hip hop, echoing in a crystal clear voice, singing “iCarli”.
Oh, and let’s not forget about the lovely Feist’s collaboration with actor Cillian Murphy in her brand new video called “The water”.
Enjoy!
Much more after the click!

It appears that fashion’s social responsibility is becoming an increasingly popular concept these days, and who better to set the trend than Mr. Trendsetter himself, Giorgio Armani.
His cause is called Acqua for Life and as the name suggests, promotes access to safe water for those who are not so lucky to take it for granted as we are. The projects is actually a collaboration with Geneva based NGO Green Cross International and its goal is to raise public awareness by donating 100 l of water per year to communities in need for each botte of fragrance sold.
All participants will be given a code by means of which they can extend their actions for this cause via Facebook. Check it out!

Ruff Diamondz, Adot, Envy, Cherri V, BabyBlue, RoxXxan, Lioness, Mz Bratt & Lady Leshurr have come together and released the Female Takeover Remix of Tinchy’s “Game Over” track as one of the BigMouthEntertainment projects.
Unlike Mr. Tinchy’s, the song is bursting with female domination and the video is quite an “angry” one. In any case, a definite eVe power behind it!

From the mystical tale of lustful individuals, she knew that sometimes it is not enough to devour things with our eyes. We are hungry, greedy people. We want to eat too. We want to dream too.
She always dreamed of eVe. She thought: When you read her name. You read it. But don’t you want to hear her too? Is it wrong to want to touch her? Or, even, see her? Personify her?
“eVe,” she said, laying in her bed in a slumber that slipped between imaginative dreams and conscious awareness. Her head was in a wild flow of thought, a pendulum of unrestricted interpretation. In the dead heat of summer, in a room filled with dense, humid air, she awoke and opened her bedroom door. Her name was Karina Kino. And as she peered forward, she could only see white.
She heard a voice call, from the depths of the white hallway. “I lost you inside of me,” it teased. She followed the echoes, taking a step outside. ”eVe?” she asked, overwhelmed by curiosity.

Following DimePiece on a daily basis, we already saw this coming. Some sneak-peaks here and there, the release of Rye Rye’s mixtape on The Paradime, were all some hints for this upcoming event and collaboration.
On February 26th DimePiece is firstly hosting an opening of their Pop-Up shop in Los Angeles, followed by a special screening and release of Rye Rye’s video for “Hardcore Girls”, which was directed by Moonbase Media though in conjunction with the Los Angeles based fashion label.
Greatly mixing fashion with art and music, this will be a must-go-and-see event if you’re in the area. Of course Rye Rye’s live performance on that evening is surely a trigger too!
Check out the teaser below and the full invite in big after the click!
