Im Rahmen des Kunstherbstes unterstützt WeSC die Ausstellung der WeActivisten Mode2 und Superblast. Manuel Osterholt ist den meisten Berlinern wohl ein Begriff; spätestens seit seiner riesen Matroschka in der Torstr. Mode2 tritt dann wieder in Erinnerung, sobald man seine extraordinären Zeichnungen von Frauen entdeckt. Wir sind gespannt auf die Installation! Am Donnerstag beginnt die Ausstellung mit einer darauf folgenden kleinen Party im Sudio44, wir sehen uns also dort!

Next week it’s on! As previously announced the third edition of STROKE.ARTFAIR is coming to Berlin for the first time, to present some of the finest Urban Art currently around. Since their start in 2009 they successfully gathered more than 500 exhibitors, making their creations accessible to over 20.000 visitors. For the upcoming STROKE.03 in Berlin, which will be held from October 7th-10th, curator Marco Schwalbe and the Stroke Team selected more than 25 international exhibitors and 8 artists to display their visions of contemporary art, next to digital art and live paintings on site and street art around the city.
As part of the digital world, STROKE has invited some of the most acclaimed German blogs to create a photographic composition for the integrated exhibition of “When Bloggers become Artists” under the subject “Urban Life in My City”. We feel very honored to be counted in among these and because we would love you to go and see the creations for yourself, you can now win 3×2 guestlist tickets! How? Auf dem Blog des Londoner Künstlers Slinkachu befinden sich Bilder von neuen Artworks. Bei Slinkachus Mini-Installationen, die ein Streetart-ungeübtes Auge leicht übersehen und über die man wortwörtlich schon mal stolpern kann, lohnt sich aber ein genaues Hinsehen. Die Perspektive verschiebt sich, man wird zum ‘Riesen’, schaut auf die Welt herunter und möchte instinktiv die kleinen Figuren beschützen. Ein gutes Gefühl, besonders, wenn man weiß, dass man eigentlich selbst die kleine Figur, ein winziger Teil des großen Ganzen, ist.

Our gurlfriends, blogga-eVerettes and muses from LookyLooky, hit us up with their new ‘Crew Love Is True Love’ Lookbook carrying the title “Charlottenburger Widows”. Our favorite Berliner babe-posse gathered a group of beautiful friends, a great photographer named Alex Flach and the legendary Berlin Hafenbar to shoot the new t-shirt collection featuring sailor styles, hairy chests, black gorillas and a sweet dedication to our favorite city: Berlin! A small part of the collection was released back in May, but make sure to visit the online store again for some freshness. eVeLuV’s- big big-up to these ladies!

Bei der Stroke.03 Urban Art Fair 2010 in Berlin, einer der einflussreichsten Messen für New Contemporary und Urban Art, die sich einer der modernsten aber auch vergänglichsten Kunstformen unserer Zeit widmet und von der wir letzte Woche ja schon berichtet haben, darf das Thema Internet nicht fehlen, daher bietet die Stroke.03 in einer Aktion auch ein Forum für die Teilnehmer an, Kunst einmal neu im Kontext der digitalen Welt zu definieren und selbst kreativ zu werden. Also sind jetzt die Blogger aufgerufen, eine Bildkomposition zu entwerfen, deren Thema “urbanes Leben in meiner Stadt” lautet. Alle Blogger-Beiträge werden dann natürlich auch ausgestellt, wir freuen uns auf Werke unserer Blogger-Kollegen und Kolleginnen von Looky Looky, ArtSchoolVets!, Amy & Pink/Design is nowhere, iheartBerlin/asphaltdiaries, Les Mads, Styleclicker, Ueberding, Ignant, Whudat und sind selbst natürlich auch vertreten. It’s on! After Amsterdam in May and Paris in July, Berlin will be center point, this upcoming weekend, for the last PXA round of 2010. As we love and are used to it peeps, pimps and players will arrive from all over to gather for yet another family day in style. Since probably the date for Berlin is rather weather tricky, we’ll have two location options set-up, depending on beloved sunshine or dreadful rain- but whatever really- in any case its going to be a blast, we can be sure about that one! Whilst the guys will continue with the “serious” competition in form of normal teams, the gurls will be grouped in LadyAllstars teams, mixing up the PXA cities (Paris/Bln/Amsterdam) and the playerette’s levels to have a fun & entertaining time playing against each other. So Berliners, show them what we got & head to one of the two locations on Saturday for a good-life-family-reunion! eVeLuV’s & big up to Nina aka Zookie for the artwork!

Schade, dass die folgende Ausstellung erstmal in London statt finden wird: die ‘Wet Women’ Exhibition zeigt fotografische Werke, die dem Styling der Models sowie der knalligen Farben nach (flamingo-pink!) aus den tiefen Achtzigern stammen. Das ist auch so, die Bilder aus 1988, stammen von Amanda Langford und wurden von der Kreativ-Agentur Reinform zu einer Ausstellung zusammen gefügt. Nun legen sie in London vom 26. August an Zeugnis über eine vergangene Dekade ab, die sich gerade wieder großer Beliebtheit erfreut. Hoffentlich demnächst auch in Berlin.

Berlin seems to be getting richer & richer on a daily basis as far as content, events, creativity and especially the energy outcome of all of it. From October 7th-10th we will be able to welcome the STROKE ARTFAIR, being the first and possibly only art-tradeshow presenting the creations of Urban Art. Fruit of the merging influences of both day to day inspirations such as graffiti, tattoos or common advertising, STROKE will welcome galleries, artist groups, single projects or magazines to display their creations and to welcome this new kind of art fair to Berlin. What we like the most about their concept is: No boundaries. From classic art collecting to serious business or just a curious stroll, nobody has to have a title or name to have a look and be stroked. Pay special attention to the planned STROKE:ONLINE project, under the concept “When Bloggers become Artists”, in which some of the most influential German blogs will present their ‘Urban Life’ art interpretation. Stay tuned and don’t miss it!

Nike Stadium Berlin came together once again with LODOWN to invite some selected peeps and of course players to their 3rd Lodown Invitational Golf Cup. The pro’s started with the championship at 10AM, whilst just a few guests were invited or able to gather at the Golf Club in Prenden, about 45 min. away from Berlin, to enjoy a little bit of batting and BBQ within this beautiful lush scenery. Friends, family and a beautiful sunny Saturday- Thanks to Nike & Lodown for this amazing day!
