By now we are probably all familiar with the beautiful world of frozen yogurt. That magical in between delight, without any fats, refreshing you on those hot summer days. No additional sugars, nothing not natural, everything biological. Fruits, chocolate, nuts or smarties as topping, too. What could be better?

After this tease, here is the news: We got a new place in Mitte to enjoy that non-sinning desert. Efa’s Frozen Yogurt will open its doors this Saturday, May 7th, at 1PM, surprising you not only with Frozen Yogurt, but fresh lemonade, cakes & so on.

“When something’s good, why dont do it again?” … must have said the Berliner Club- and Restaurantowner Cookie, when he decided to open a second veggie restaurant, after the first CHIPPS at Jägerstraße was such a big success.

On Monday evening CHIPPS #2 opened its doors, where we can now finally be able to enjoy lunch, dinner or breakfast at its new location at Friedrichstraße. The concept is the same as at CHIPPS #1: light and delicous meals and salads, mostly vegetarian, but not solely. You can choose meat as a garment on your plate.

The opening was extremely crowded, showing once again how popular the concept of eating healthy and carrying a healthy lifestyle has become to our generation. Congratulations and good lunch, ehhh… luck, Cookie!

Das gab´s noch nicht bisher: ein temporäres Restaurant! Aber das , was da nächstes Jahr vom 17. Januar bis 20. Februar in Berlin aufpoppt, will kein Pop-Up-Restaurant sein, sondern versteht sich selbst als ‘Dining Experience’. Ein Schmelztiegel kulinarischer Verführungen, der aus dem Nichts erscheint, für einen genussvollen Moment bleibt und dann für immer verschwindet.

Der Kurzfristigkeit entsprechend wird dann aucn nicht viel Chi Chi gemacht: es gibt nur wenige Plätze, alles findet statt zwischen Betonwände (dafür aber mit Kerzenschein) zwischen Holzkisten, dazu Euro-Paletten und die Düfte aus den Küchen Europas. Das alles ergibt die Pret á Diner-Kollektion 2011.

Cookies, Cream, Chipps… what sounds like a really unhealthy TV-Dinner are actually the names of one of Berlin´s most famous, modern and creative locations for Party, Food and Beverages! Named after his club (or was it the other way around?) was the owner of club ‘Cookies’, the veggie restaurant ‘Cream’ and the new Fast Food restaurant ‘Chipps’, Cookie Gindullis was never satisfied with the options of high quality and especially vegetarian food in the capital. So he invented a creative concept which brings together the goods of healthy groceries and fresh ingredients to an uncomplicated, stylish but also premium-level quality, affordable, without dogma. In these days you can try out the new ‘Serious Breakfast Special at ‘Chipps’. All of them have pretty nice and not a bit serious names for example the ‘Perfect Gentleman’, ‘Hangover’ and ‘Walk Of Shame’. The menues are prepared behind an open kitchen desk, so you can make sure, that everything is fresh and you can enjoy the fun of cooking. So come on over, try out the ‘Chipps’, but don´t blame us, if you don´t want to go elsewhere after it!

On your shopping trip through Mitte you can now rest and lunch at Bixels, the first restaurant for Baked Potatoes in Mitte, recently opened by Daniel Bixel. After thousand litres of thai-soups, uncountable pieces of pizza or the other stuff we ate for years, we’re extremely happy about this potato revival. Actually there might not be any more German food than potatoes (apart from cabbage) but the good thing is: it´s a healthy thing too. Forget all these low-carb-theories, potatoes are fat-free, full of proteins and just delicious. Be sure to go by when you´re in Mulackstraße and try them with chicken, red lentils and honey carrots or with goat cheese spinach salad with truffle oil…they are all delicate!

It took long time but now the first Frozen Yogurt store, the Yoli Frozen Yogurt, has opened it´s doors in Berlin! We can now enjoy the delicious dessert or intermezzo we all just heard from stories from people living the American Dream, directly in our hipster area Mitte.  The fat free-yogurt ice-cream is served in a paper cup (or mixed up as a smoothie), being able to choose from any additional topping you want, no matter if you prefer berries, chocolate sauce or Oreo-Biscuit-Crush. In any case you´ll get something incredibly tasty! We’re addicted already- how ’bout you?!

When you travel to a foreign country, the first things you would like to find out are ““insider spots – the places where the locals go”. Last weekend we were able to welcome HEDI, a new and very particular pop-up restaurant @ Torstr. 84-86. Situated in a gap between two buildings and welcoming its guests on nothing but a few artistic wooden seating possibilities, you would never think that HEDI serves some of the finest food in town.

Owner Tilo has not only put his former know-how from leading Bar 25’s restaurant into this, but most of all has put his heart- the absolute soul-kitchen menu enchants its guests with the best of the best, but at a very fair price. If this has still not convinced you to try it out, here comes the highlight: How about eating amazing food, under a clear sky in Summer while watching World Cup? The screens are ready to rumble, and we’re sure that HEDI will definitely become a summer insider-hot-spot, even for us!

We could list thousands of things why! From their website, the pictures they use and the way they talk on it; to the actual design of all areas of the hotel, let it be the 5 different types of room with their own decoration, or the hanging out places with a restaurant & bar with live bands; up to the little stories they made up about every crew member- they seem the friendliest hosting geniuses ever!

We have never spent a night, but we are sure, you definetly should!
