Das Johannesburg 24 ist sowas wie der kleine Fußball-Bruder der großen Bar 25. Zusammen mit Adidas Originals hat man pünktlich zur WM eine Public Viewing Location in Kreuzberg geschaffen, die an einen Spielplatz erinnert, auf dem man den ganzen Tag nach Herzenslust Bretter zusammennageln kann. Tatsächlich sind die Buden und Hütten in der Holzmarktstraße 24 von der provisorischen Leichtbauweise, wie sie in Südafrika überall zu finden ist: viel Holz, Wellblech und auch ein paar Autoreifen. Hier läßt es sich nun nicht nur fantastisch Fußball gucken, sondern man kann sich sportlich selbst betätigen auf dem Beachvolleyball-Platz oder der Skateboardrampe, im kleinen Pool abhängen, essen, trinken, chillen…

Bearpit Karaoke started in February 2009 by the minds of Joe Hatchiban and Klara Geist and by now is a fixed hot-spot on a sunny Sunday in Berlin. Located next to the flea market at the stone amphitheater of Mauerpark in Prenzlauer Berg, the local phenomenon regularly draws over 1500 people to chill, have a laugh, perform and most importantly: sing! Together with a laptop full of karaoke songs and a handmade soundsystem the team becomes center of attention from 1.30PM to 5PM every week, when the weather allows of course. Usually the performances are filmed, so make sure to drop by their youtube channel to find your embarrassing performance (lucky if it wasn’t) online!

Going to the flea market on Sunday is certainly one of Berlin’s residents favorite activity. Hoping for sunshine, good funds and post-shopping drinks are the base of a successful flea market trip. Next to Mauerpark-Arconaplatz & co., we are now very curious about the upcoming Nowkoelln location. Their chosen hot-spot will be right at the beautiful canal Maybachufer in Berlin’s district Neukölln, offering second hand fashion, typical flea market treasures and live music from Casa Electro Novo among others.

This weekend is probably the official Berlin summer start! With Berlin Gallery Weekend, Designer Sale, Bar 25’s “official” opening, the Weekend rooftop and Club der Visionäre being open already, we were just waiting for one of our last favorites to be ready to rumble: Badeschiff! We can’t wait till the weather is so good to us that we can get out the oil, towels & bikini and work on this tan! Also if that’s probably not going to happen for another month at least, the hot-spot will surely be a good place to chill & enjoy the sand between our feet in the meantime. We are so ready for summer, and we bet you are too. Have fun splashing around!
